Statement of Terms of Service - Speaker Engagement

 

Thank you for considering Ancestry Talks for your event. The following terms of service are outlined to ensure clarity and transparency in our collaboration:

Services: I am pleased to provide speaking services at your event and deliver the agreed-upon presentation(s) as outlined in the Contract.

Fees: An advance payment of 50% of the agreed-upon fee is required at the time of booking to secure the engagement date. This advance is necessary to reserve the date exclusively for your event, as it enables the refusal of other potential engagements. The balance must be paid in full no later than 31 days after the event unless otherwise agreed in writing.

Preliminary meetings, often required for event preparation, are included as part of the speaking services, ensuring a bespoke and well-aligned presentation for your audience.

Expenses: As part of my services, I may incur reasonable and pre-approved expenses in connection with the Event, such as travel, accommodation, and meals. The Client will reimburse these expenses as agreed upon in writing.

Recordings: Without my prior written consent, the Client is not permitted to record, reproduce, or distribute any audio, video, or visual recordings of my presentation(s) at the Event. I retain all intellectual property rights, including copyrights, in my presentation(s).

Confidentiality: The Client must respect the confidentiality of any information provided in connection with the Event, including the content of my presentation(s), and must not disclose, share, or disseminate it without my prior written consent.

Postponement: If the Event needs to be postponed to another date, I am open to accommodating such changes. If the rescheduled event takes place within 6 months of the previously scheduled date, no additional charge will apply.

Cancellation: In the event of a cancellation:
a) If the Event is canceled 30 days or more prior to the scheduled date, the advance payment will be retained as a cancellation fee.
b) If the Event is canceled less than 30 days prior to the scheduled date, the full fee will be charged as a cancellation fee.

Indemnity: The Client shall indemnify, defend, and hold me harmless from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses arising out of or in connection with any breach of this Contract or the Client's use of my presentation(s) at the Event.

Governing Law and Jurisdiction: This Contract is governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the specified State/Country. Any disputes arising under or in connection with this Contract shall be resolved exclusively by the courts of the specified State/Country.

By engaging my services, the Client acknowledges that they have read, understood, and agreed to these terms. These terms and conditions constitute the entire understanding and agreement between both parties, superseding all prior agreements, whether oral or written. Any amendments or modifications to the Contract must be in writing and signed by both parties.
